All of these photographs are of places within 6 miles of the bungalow with the exception of Strumble Head (lighthouse) which is about 10 miles from the bungalow but easily walkable!

We have been lucky enough to get to know a local artist Naomi Tydeman who just happens to have won the 'Turner Watercolour Prize' for 2013, she has painted our buisness card [top right] which had originally been intended for 'Morlin' but, rather than having created a lithograph of this we have eventually decided to buy another print which is prominently displayed!

Thanks to a great neighbour, we have an aerial view from 'Morlin' along the coastline and with views over Trefin, it was taken a little while ago now so our garden has changed but the great views haven't.

Local Area

TREFIN – pronounced Trevine, rhyming with ‘keen’ is the official name of the village but you may see its anglicised spelling Trevine, particularly on older maps. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trefin

As you will see the village pub has been in existence for over 200 years [menu has been updated!] and the local mill ruins which ceased operations in the early twentieth century.

The photographs on the site have been taken on short walks from "Morlin" via Abercastle and back, approximately 4 miles, via Porthgain again about 4 miles.

We are still currently exploring the area and will update the website with any hidden gems we discover.

The Mill at Middle Mill, nr Solva is the oldest working Woollen Mill in Pembrokeshire, and has done very well out of us!
